Biosurfactant-Producing Mucor Strains: Selection, Screening, and Chemical Characterization

چکیده

Biosurfactants are amphiphilic molecules with surface tension reducing activities. Among biosurfactant producers, fungi have been identified as promising organisms. While many studies investigated production in fungal species from the Ascomycota and Basidiomycota phyla, less is known concerning Mucoromycota phylum. In this context, aim of study was to screen optimize 24 strains, including seven Mucor, three Lichtheimia, one Absidia species. After cultivation a medium stimulating surfactant production, activity cell-free supernatants measured using both oil spreading parafilm M tests. them, five Mucor strain belonging M. circinelloides, lanceolatus, mucedo, racemosus, plumbeus, showed repulsion. Then, impact composition on evaluated for eight strains. Three i.e., circinelloides UBOCC-A-109190, plumbeus UBOCC-A-111133, mucedo UBOCC-A-101353 an interesting potential, 36, 31, 32 mN/m, respectively. A preliminary characterization produced by these strains performed that compounds belonged glycolipid family.

Isolation, Screening and Characterization of Hyaluronidase Producing Bacteria

Hyaluronidase has a panoramic use in biotechnology processes and therapy due to its therapeutic, pathophysiological, physiological and biological importance. Since much of the preparations of hyaluronidases are from animal source (bovine and ovine testicular sources) with limited sources of microbial origin, that prompted the authors to screen and isolate a new promising bacterial strain ...

Screening and identification of biosurfactant producing marine bacteria from the Caspian Sea

Marine microorganisms have unique physiological properties and novel metabolites such as biosurfactant to live in extreme habitats (e.g. oil polluted environment). The aim of this study was to characterize some biosurfactant-producing bacteria collected from sediment and seawater samples from the Caspian Sea. These bacteria were isolated using enrichment method in ONR7a medium with crude oil as...

Screening concepts for the isolation of biosurfactant producing microorganisms.

This chapter gives an overview of current methods for the isolation of biosurfactant producing microbes. The common screening methods for biosurfactants are presented. Sampling and isolation of bacteria are the basis for screening of biosurfactant producing microbes. Hydrocarbon-contaminated sites are the most promising for the isolation of biosurfactant producing microbes, but many strains hav...
